Dealing with a health issue alone can be very difficult. If you're facing a complex medical diagnosis or treatment decision such as surgery, My Medical Ally can help you:

  • Get a virtual second opinion from a leading specialist in the U.S.

  • Receive independent answers to questions abut your diagnosis and treatment plan, and guidance on available treatments.

  • Verify any doctor’s credentials, skills and experience treating your condition.

Before you say "yes" to surgery, My Medical Ally can help you weigh the risks, benefits and alternative treatment options that could work best for you. Even if you decide against My Medical Ally’s recommendation, you may qualify for a $400 prepaid card or $400 Health Savings Account (HSA) contribution (provided by My Medical Ally) if the service is used with respect to certain surgical decisions.

Visit the My Medical Ally website or call: 888-361-3944 Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. C.T.  When prompted, provide company code "NGC".

All U.S. based employees, spouses/domestic partners and dependents 18 and over enrolled in the Anthem medical plan are eligible.

In accordance with privacy and security rules under HIPAA, the results of your consultation are never shared with Northrop Grumman.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports about 38 million Americans have diabetes and one in five don’t know they have it. Type 1 diabetes accounts for 5-10% of all diagnosed cases and type 2 accounts for 90-95% of all diagnosed cases.

Whether you’re at risk for diabetes, pre-diabetic or already living with diabetes, Northrop Grumman wants to empower you to take control of your health. We know education can play a key role when it comes to preventing and managing diabetes, which is why we’re making resources readily accessible. Learn about the benefits and programs available to support you and your loved ones.

Find a Provider

If you’re an Anthem member, Quantum Health can help you find a primary care physician and diabetes specialist.

If you’re on an overseas assignment, learn how Cigna Global can help you manage your diabetes abroad.

Health Coaching

Kaiser Permanente members can connect with a dedicated wellness coach at no cost. The coach can provide customized plans and resources for everything from weight management and physical fitness to chronic health conditions and smoking cessation.

Anthem members 18 and over have free access to Vida Health, who provides coaching to help individuals with diabetes, weight management, smoking cessation and stress reduction. Vida will develop a personal plan and guide you every step of the way with tools and supplies to help you create healthy habits. You can also sync devices – like blood sugar meters, fitness trackers and scales – to monitor your progress in the Vida Health app.

Vida Health also provides access to a virtual, diabetes support group, facilitated by a registered dietician. The group uses well-being engagement prompts to improve diabetes knowledge and provides peer-to-peer support.

Prescription Drug Support

Sometimes it may be difficult to afford diabetes-related treatment. Anthem members have access to Rx Savings Solutions (RxSS), a service that can work with you to find alternatives to expensive prescriptions. RxSS has a team of certified pharmacy technicians ready to speak with you about all your options and explain how the service works.

If your prescription coverage is through CVS Pharmacy, you can get a diabetes kit when filling your insulin or oral diabetes prescription.

Dental Health

When you have diabetes, you’re more at risk for periodontal (gum) disease, thrush and dry mouth – which means taking care of your oral health is critical.

Delta Dental now covers additional teeth and gum cleanings for members with diabetes, as well as 13 other chronic conditions.

To keep your gums healthy and your blood sugar in check, Cigna Dental’s Oral Health Integration Program reimburses periodontal (gum) treatment and maintenance.

Vision Care

It’s important to get a comprehensive eye exam each year to catch any diabetes-related conditions early. Some diabetic eye diseases have no signs or symptoms until they're too obvious to ignore. Through VSP Vision Care, Northrop Grumman offers fully-covered retinal screenings for members with diabetes, treatment options to monitor ongoing health conditions (such as dry eye, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, etc.) and services or exams to treat immediate eye issues and sudden changes in vision.

Stress Management and Mental Health Support

Managing a chronic condition or supporting a loved one can take a mental toll. Through NGCare, you can access mental health support 24/7.

Save on Eligible Medical Expenses with Savings Accounts

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Health Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are helpful for long-term health management and financial planning. With an HSA or FSA, you can set aside pre-tax money for eligible medical expenses, such as insulin and diabetic supplies.

Preventive Health

Taking preventive measures now can help maintain your total health and well-being, manage risks and detect conditions, like diabetes, early on. As part of our medical plan, preventive care is typically 100% covered. If you’re enrolled in a Northrop Grumman Anthem, Kaiser or Cigna Global plan, you’re eligible* to earn $500 for taking preventive measures through our Well-being Incentive Program.

*Participants in the HMSA, Kaiser Hawaii, and Tricare Supplement plans aren’t eligible for the Well-being Incentive Program. Baltimore and Sunnyvale-represented employees are eligible for the Annual Physical Incentive Program.

Explore Beneplace to find discounts on Blue Apron meal delivery, gym memberships, activity devices, the Jenny Craig weight loss program and more.
