Adopting a child or starting a surrogacy journey is exciting, but it can bring unique financial challenges. Through the Northrop Grumman Adoption/Surrogacy Assistance Program, you can get reimbursed up to $3,500 for qualified expenses per adoption or surrogacy arrangement, with a $7,000 calendar-year maximum.  To submit a request, visit the employee services portal.

Our paid parental leave policy offers employees six weeks (up to 240 hours) of paid time off within the first 12 months following the birth of a child or placement of a child for adoption.

Back-up Care Advantage, offered through Bright Horizons, provides you with a safety net for those days when regular care arrangements fall through and you need to be at work. Back-up care supplements these arrangements and is a comforting, emergency alternative when you need it the most.

Take advantage of up to 10 unplanned/emergency back-up child care or adult/elder care sessions per year at a nominal fee when your regular care provider isn’t available. Options include center-based or in-home care.

Northrop Grumman offers two scholarship programs for eligible employees' children.  The National Merit Scholarships and Northrop Grumman Special Scholarships, managed by National Merit, offer 50+ awards to high school juniors (11th grade/third year) who will be completing high school and entering college in the fall of the next school year. Northrop Grumman Scholarships for Employees’ Children, managed by Scholarship America, provide up to 130 scholarships per year to children of full-time and part-time Northrop Grumman employees. Preparing for college can be a stressful and time-consuming task for you and your whole family. Northrop Grumman partners with College Coach to help you with important educational challenges. 

College Coach, offered at no cost, provides access to experts who’ve worked at top colleges and can give you with the guidance needed to help you prepare for college, beginning in elementary school. Take advantage of live events, access to a virtual learning center, personalized assistance through a help desk and one-on-one counseling. Understand, advocate for, and support your child from birth to young adulthood with personalized guidance and resources. The program provides support for children of all abilities and features a platform with extensive resources by state, an “ask the expert” tool , more than 20 webinars focusing on relevant, current educational topics and 1:1 guidance for individual family situations.

My Pet Protection from Nationwide helps your pets get the best care possible. You can choose the level of reimbursement and coverage that fits your needs and budget for services that cover accidents, illnesses and hereditary conditions. You're free to use any vet and get additional benefits for emergency boarding, lost pet advertising and more. Plus, a 24/7 vet helpline is available as a free service to all pet insurance members ($150 value).
