Retiree Medical

The Northrop Grumman Retiree Medical Plan provides medical and prescription drug benefits for eligible retirees and their eligible dependents. In general, you are eligible if you are age 55 or older at retirement with a minimum of 10 years of service, or age 65 or older with a minimum of five years of vesting service at the time of your retirement from Northrop Grumman.

Before age 65, you are eligible to choose from a variety of plan options for medical and prescription drug coverage for you and your dependents who are also under 65.* Your cost for coverage will depend on multiple factors. Contact the NGBC to learn more.

Once you turn 65, Medicare is your primary health insurance, but you still have the option to purchase additional coverage to supplement Medicare through Via Benefits, a private insurance exchange. If you are eligible for subsidized retiree medical coverage, you may receive this support in the form of a Retiree Health Reimbursement Account (RHRA). The coverage you buy through Via Benefits is not part of the Northrop Grumman Retiree Medical Plan.

For more information on the retiree medical plan, contact the Northrop Grumman Benefits Center at 800-894-4194.

* Retirees with certain retiree heritage classifications may continue to be eligible for medical and prescription drug coverage under the Northrop Grumman Retiree Medical Plan after they reach age 65.
