Everyday Northrop Grumman employees achieve impressive feats that deserve to be celebrated.

Northrop Grumman is built on the desire to explore, experiment and define possible. But all of this depends on our people — current and future. To continue our legacy of pushing the boundaries of discovery, we use a proactive recognition strategy to ensure every employee feels connected to who we are and the work we do.

Employee Appreciation Events and Family Days

Employee appreciation events and family days are special events organized across sites throughout the United States. The events serve not only as gestures of gratitude for the amazing work being done companywide, but also, they demonstrate Northrop Grumman’s commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

Check out some of our recent events and what employees are saying:

• Space Park Campus — Redondo Beach, California:
  
  In August of 2023, more than 9,000 employees participated in Space Park’s annual Employee Appreciation Day. From live music and food trucks to browsing an incredible collection of 136 classic cars as part of the annual car show and contest — there truly was something for everyone.
  
  “For me, Employee Appreciation Day is about celebrating the accomplishments of all our employees at Space Park and across the collective enterprise,” said Gefferie Yee-Madera, vice president of engineering, Strategic Space Systems Division.
  
  “I’m amazed at how many folks work at Space Park, especially upon seeing everybody come out of their buildings at the same time,” Robby Swoish, senior engineer. “I enjoyed seeing so many prior co-workers and friends at the employee appreciation event and being able to catch up with them.”

• Baltimore Campuses — Baltimore, Maryland:
  
  More than 2,500 Space Systems and Mission Systems employees and their families attended the 2023 Donuts in December Open House. This popular event featured holiday and winter-themed activities while allowing employees to share their work life with their loved ones. Families were able to tour the campus and buildings where our mission comes to life, a rarity in the classified aerospace work environment.

• Melbourne Campus — Melbourne, Florida:
  
  More than 4,500 Aeronautics Systems employees participated in an Employee Appreciation Day event in October 2023. In addition to food, games and fun, the event also highlighted Northrop Grumman’s Total Rewards and well-being resources just in time for employees to select their benefits for the upcoming year. 
  
  “Our Melbourne Health EXPO combined with the employee appreciation event was enjoyed by all,” said Deborah Marzano, employee health nurse. “The benefit vendors were happy with the constant employee traffic and questions and the employees were grateful for the benefit information and, of course, the swag.”
  
  

Recognition Opportunities at Northrop Grumman

Employee appreciation doesn’t end at employee and family events. We’re committed to building a culture of belonging by recognizing hard working employees in many ways – both internally and externally.

• BRAVO to our Stars: Our formal internal recognition program allows employees to give, receive, and share recognition with their coworkers virtually. From a quick "thank you!" to acknowledging life events like birthdays, service anniversaries and more, this program makes it easy to celebrate and encourage others.
  
  
• External Awards Programs: Each year, hundreds of employees are nominated by their peers and leaders for awards programs, such as the Black Engineer of the Year Award, Society of Women Engineers and Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers awards.
  
  
• Professional Development: Northrop Grumman recognizes that the knowledge and skills one needs to succeed often change over the course of their career. We offer a variety of professional development opportunities for those in the early, middle or later stages of their careers, ranging from continued education to mentorship programs and more.
