  • Eligible for reduced pension benefit

  • May begin Social Security payments, but reductions apply

  • Pension benefit is fully earned

  • Social Security benefits begin based on the year you were born; can be between age 65 and 67

  • You must begin Social Security payments
  • You’re required to start taking minimum distributions from your retirement account

Request a personal Retirement Benefits Coordinator (RBC) within 180 days of commencing your benefit.

A specially trained representative can answer questions about your retirement benefits and provide personalized support.

Typically, you're eligible for Medicare age 65 or older.

  • Call the Northrop Grumman Benefits Center (NGBC) when you become eligible for Medicare 

  • If you’re enrolled in retiree medical coverage through Via Benefits, call Via Benefits when you become eligible for Medicare

Social Security

Designate Beneficiaries


Once enrolled, update or add a beneficiary in NetBenefits.

A beneficiary is the person, trust, or other legal entity named by the participant to receive any benefit provided under the plan upon the participant's death. If you don't name a beneficiary, benefits will be paid out as specified under the terms of your plan.

 

Update Workday


Make sure your name, address, and any other personal information is correct and up to date within Workday. To make changes, go to Workday > My Personal Information
