Emotional Well-being

Emotional well-being includes incorporating healthy practices and perspectives into life, such as stress management, generating positive emotions, being resilient and living with a sense of purpose. Scientists are finding that our links to others can have powerful effects on our health—both emotionally and physically. Whether with romantic partners, family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, or others, social connections can influence our biology and well-being. Emotional well-being often includes social support, mindfulness exercises, activities to help you relax and improve sleep, and getting professional help when you need it.

Through the NGCare Employee Assistance Program (EAP), you and your eligible family/household members can speak confidentially with a licensed counselor, 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 800-982-8161 (TTY 800-697-0353).

You and your eligible family members may receive up to eight counseling sessions per issue, per year; enrollment is not required. Review this brochure or access ComPsych for more information.

Webinars that Promote Emotional Well-Being on Building an Inclusive and Supportive Work Environment

NGCare, in partnership with multiple organizations, sponsors employee webinars that offer tools and resources on topics including creating work/life harmony, increasing emotional well-being, building resilience, and creating inclusion and a sense of belonging.

Support for Managers

Managers and supervisors are encouraged to seek support when they need advice or a workplace consultation. Topics include coaching to address employee performance or personal concerns, managing team conflict, and strengthening work group inclusion and engagement. The dedicated Northrop Grumman line at 1-800-982-8161 offers confidential support from licensed professionals.
